“He is sort of a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf doesn’t wither. In all that he does, he prospers.” Psalm 1:3 (ESV)
Can I be sincere with you? For a very long time, I felt spiritually caught—newly married in a brand new state, disconnected from buddies and hiding to guard myself from worry and failure. I satisfied myself that staying small and unseen would shield me from worry, failure and the unknown.
However staying caught doesn’t preserve us secure. It retains us from collaborating within the affluent life God has ready for us.
Hiding solely deepened the ache in my coronary heart. My days of retreating from objective left me feeling disconnected, insufficient and unsure. It was like urgent “pause” by myself life. I used to be paralyzed by the worry of not being sufficient, of not measuring up.
Amid my battle, I used to be drawn to Elijah’s story in Scripture in 1 Kings 19. After a robust second with God at Mount Carmel, Elijah fearfully fled to a cave. That hiding place turned his refuge but additionally his jail. But God met Elijah in that cave, and in His mild love, He did the identical for me.
God didn’t let my caught season go to waste. Slowly, He jogged my memory that He didn’t design me to remain stagnant. He created me to develop, take part and reside absolutely in line with Him. He stirred a longing in my coronary heart to hunt Him with recent intention. However change didn’t occur in a single day. It occurred by means of small, devoted, regular steps — selections to hunt Him every day, to pursue group and to give up my fears.
Procrastination, overthinking and clinging to consolation can preserve us caught. However God presents a approach out of each stagnant place. He desires us to thrive even in probably the most difficult seasons, like a tree planted by streams of water:
“He is sort of a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf doesn’t wither. In all that he does, he prospers” (Psalm 1:3).
The important thing? Religion and diligence. Hebrews 11:6 reminds us, “He rewards those that diligently seek for him” (ISV). As we deliberately pursue Him, He meets us with faithfulness, power and path.
God sees you in your caught place. He’s gently inviting you to step out of that cave and into the life He’s calling you to. Begin small. Ask Him that will help you take one step nearer to Him after which one other.
As we root ourselves in Him by means of time in His Phrase and His presence, He strengthens us to flourish. He turns our caught locations into unstoppable objective for His glory and our good. And that’s the life He has for you.
Heavenly Father, thank You for seeing me in my caught locations and loving me sufficient to name me out of hiding. Forgive me for the instances I’ve hidden from Your face and objective. Assist me to take small, devoted steps towards You, trusting in Your power and hand to information me and make me steadfast, fruitful and unshaken. In Jesus’ Title, Amen.
